PLATEAU REPRESENTATIVE YUSUF GAGDI SAYS ZONING IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL AS HE REELS OUT HIS ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE GREEN CHAMBER, BACKS GOVERNOR MUTFWANG FOR SECOND TERM IN MEDIA PARLEY.

The member representing Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Navy, on Saturday 25 April 2026 presented his  scorecard in the  Green Chamber, highlighting his legislative and oversight functions. 

The representative gave a critical overview of his performance thus far in the national assembly during a media chat and interaction with media executives,editors,
correspondents,
content creators,social media influencers and others at his country home in Rayfield, Jos Nigeria. 

Reeling out his records Gagdi said that he has sponsored 58 bills at the 10th assembly 6 of which have been assented to by the President, which includes the: Conversion of the Federal College of Education, Pankshin, to a Federal University of Education.

The  amendment of the Police Act.

 The establishment of the Admiralty University in Delta State. 

The National Hydrographic Agency.

The lawmaker also listed the securing of job opportunities for  thousands of his constituents, while also highlighting several constituency projects facilitated under his tenure, including the rehabilitation of nine major roads in Pankshin, construction of roads in Kanam, and the ongoing construction of 38 small bridges and three major bridges across the constituency. 

The provision of  portable water to his people and empowerment of his constituents with grants, farming tools and  palliatives. 

Gagdi revealed that he has also provided financial support to educational institutions, including the Federal University in Pankshin, to assist in the expansion and development of the university which has provided jobs for those in the immediate vicinity of the school. 

He debunked allegations of bias in job placements, refuting claims that opportunities were distributed along religious lines, which he described as  wrong narratives tinkered towards rubbishing his image. 

He said

“Employment opportunities are based on competence and credibility, not religion. Both Christians and Muslims have benefited from placements in federal agencies,” 

The two term lawmaker expressed support for Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s second-term ambition, citing massive infrastructure projects across Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam zone. 

He noted  several road projects funded and currently ongoing by the state government that will impact communities which has lent credence to his support for governor Mutfwang’s 2nd term bid. 

In his words:

“My support is for the interest of the people. The Governor has shown commitment through projects on the ground, especially roads,” 

Speaking on concerns over the zoning of political positions in the PKK, Gagdi expressed strong confidence in his chances of securing re-election in 2027,pointing to an impressive Legislative record, sustained engagement and critical interventions throughout his tenure so far 

ON ZONING IN PANKSHIN, KANKE, KANAM. 
In his words

.“The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria does not limit how many times I can contest in elections. I urge my opponents to engage voters with ideas rather than sentiments,” 

Hon. Gagdi pledged his commitment to quality service,  championing initiatives that will aide development in his constituency and strengthen national unity and cohesion. 

 He further stressed that attracting federal presence and institutions to Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam remains hisv paramount strategy to stimulate local development, create opportunities and growth for his people.

Gagdi assured his constituents of continued commitment to effective representation noting that more projects are underway across the constituency in the run up to the general elections. 

    He called on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu whose policies  will have long-term benefits in the nation's trajectory towards progress and economic emancipation. 


Having been first elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023, Gagdi has built an aura as an accessible lawmaker who is quite accessible.

He will be seeking a record 3rd term to represent the Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam federal constituency.
