PLATEAU GOVERNOR DECLARES PLATEAU STATE MULTI SECTORAL DISASTER SIMULATION EXERCISE OPEN

The Plateau State Governor Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has declared the Plateau State Multi Sectoral Disaster Simulation Exercise open.
Governor Mutfwang represented by the Deputy Governor of the state Hon.Mrs Josephine Piyo said
" I wish to thank the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency(PLASEMA), our development and Humanitarian partners,local government heads of department, security institutions and indeed all critical stakeholders for the tireless effort they have all put in place in making this exercise a reality"
"The most pressing responsibility of government is the protection of lives and property the theme of this exercise:
"Enhancing Preparedness, Coordination and Response Systems
From Policy to Practice:Strengthening Sub-National Disaster Risk Management capacity is both timely and relevant"
She said across the World communities are constantly threatened natural disasters caused by climate change,environmental degradation, health emergencies, security challenges among others. These realities remind us that disaster risk management must move beyond theory into deliberate and coordinated action.Plateau has not been immune to these occurrences as we have witnessed incidencnces of flaah flooding,fire disasters and communal crisis hence the timeliness of the exercise.
Hon.Sunday Abdul the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (PLASEMA) while welcoming the Deputy Governor to the simulation exercise noted that 5 states were represented including Benue, Nassarawa, Niger, Borno and Adamawa by their State Emergency bosses showing that Plateau State is indeed getting it right in disaster crisis management simulation which will be deployed in real time.
The event held at the conference hall of the Old Government House Rayfield Jos, Nigeria on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
