ZAMFARA STATE COMES TOPS IN E- GOVERNANCE AT 13TH MEETING OF NATIONAL COUNCIL ON COMMUNICATIONS, INNOVATION AND DIGITAL ECONOMY.

The 13th National Council on Communications and Digital Economy which held at the Crispan Suites and Event Centre Jos Nigeria from Monday 8 December Friday 12 December 2025 produced winners in the awards category notable among them being Zamfara State where it emerged as the best State in E-governance Implementation and emerged as the First Runner up in ICT Human Capital Development.

Speaking to POCKET NEWS NIGERIA on the sidelines of the event Dr Habib Gajam the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Information Technology Development Agency(ZALTODA) disclosed that the State governor his Excellency Dr Dauda Lawal has been the driving force behind the agency's success through the timely release of funds and resources to meet set goals and timelines.

Dr Gajam said;
"We have digitized our operations across ministries, departments and agencies and also strengthened public service efficiency through seamless platforms thereby improving inter- agency connectivity with high speed internet outcomes among other ground breaking innovations"

He noted that the State had invested substantially in the ICT sector and attributed the awards to the hard work of the State Government,the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the agency while assuring that they were still a work in progress as more groundbreaking concepts to drive ICT in the State was still in the implementation stage.
On the issue of insecurity and banditry the Executive Secretary said the state has also deployed Al in fighting the menace as a modern command and control center has been set up which enables citizens to report security breaches in real time directly from local communities while emphasizing that digitalization has made response time for security agencies faster and more seamless in responding to threats and threats assessment.
He concluded by saying that the entire E- Governance model in Zamfara State has made all facets of the socio economic lives of the people easier notwithstanding the security challenges which were being tackled headlong in collaboration with the Federal Government, Security agencies and other relevant stakeholders across the State and beyond.
