WE HAVE PLANTED 4 THOUSAND ECONOMIC TREES IN COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE GARKAWA-Loks

The Provost of the College of Agriculture Garkawa in Mikang, Plateau State Rev. N.A Loks has disclosed that the College has planted 4 thousand economic trees at the institution which includes mangoes, cashew,citrus and coconut of 20 hectares of land and that currently the plants are doing very well.

Speaking to POCKET NEWS MAGAZINE recently in Jos he also disclosed that "The time is Now" administration of Governor Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang has been very supportive to management with the installation of solar lighting to enhance security at the College while thanking him for the provision of a bus to make commuting easier for staff and students.

He advised the youths to embrace agriculture rather than chasing white collar jobs which are almost non existent in the present economy while farming is production based.

Loks said COA Garkawa had introduced new programs into its curriculum and advised the youths to key in as some were short courses of about 6 months where they would be trained with requisite skills  in agricultural techniques and methods.
