MY ROLE MY AID MISSION HOSTS ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND MAGAZINE UNVEILING

MY Role My Aid mission held it's annual series of conferençe and colloquium  in Jos the Plateau  State Capital on Thursday 30 October at the Joshua Dariye hall of the Jos Campus of Plateau State Polytechnic with the theme "Plateau State; Introducing Agro as Real Business"

Declaring this year's edition open the convener and Executive Director of My Role Aid Mission and the Publisher of  My Role Magazine Engr. Solomon Gokas thanked all invited guests,key note speakers and participants to the occasion while noting that under "The time is Now" administration of Governor Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang agriculture has been put on the front burner hence the theme for this year's conferençe.
Gokas noted that the agricultural sector is a potential gold mine if properly harnessed by the teeming youths who are unemployed and indeed the general population considering the agrarian nature of Plateau State where commercial crops abound.

The Keynote speaker at the event Mr Garba Gowon Gonkal who is also the Project Coordinator of the Agro Climactic Resilience in Semi -Arid Landscapes(ACReSAL) in Plateau State  represented by the Project Safety Officer,Mr Nanbal Hassan urged every participant to tape into the huge gains of Agriculture on the Plateau stressing that ACReSAL was already collaborating massively with the state government in the area of sustainable value chain in the the agro sector citing various areas of interventions across the three Senatorial zones of Plateau State in enhancing eco friendly policies to encourage farming and allied industry.

One of the paper presenters at the occasion and the Provost  College of Agriculture Garkawa Rev. N.A Loks  encouraged women and youths to key into farming as white collar jobs were no longer available for the teeming populace on the Plateau and that if properly harnessed would provide thousands of jobs and means of livelihood for citizens.

He informed that presently COA Garkawa  had planted 4 thousand commercial trees including cashew,citrus,mango and coconut with the input of ACReSAL and  Plateau State government while urging participants to liase with the college for more knowledge and technical  training on how to grow commercially viable trees and crops.

Another paper presenter Dr Daphne Peter Habila a veterinarian and the founder of Agrovet Embassy reteriated that Agriculture whether livestock or crop farming required patience, perseverance and financial discipline as they were no shortcuts to success in the industry.
A special edition of My Role My Aid Magazine was also launched with good will messages from the Ministry of Environment,The Ujah Anaguta, Representative of the forest Security Services, Representative of Prof. Patrck Dakum, CEO of the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria(IHVN), Representative of Chief Amos Gizo the Chairman Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority among others.
