PLATEAU GOVERNOR MUTFWANG PRESENTS BUDGET TAGGED "CONSOLIDATION AND SUSTAINABILITY 2.0"

Governor Caleb Mutfwang has presented 
the 2026 appropriation bill of Nine Hundred and Fourteen Billion, Eight Hundred and Sixty-Three Million, Four Hundred and Twenty-Two Thousand, Eight Hundred and Seventy-One Naira (914,863,422,871.00), to the 10th Assembly in the state.

Presenting the budget before the Assembly at the newly renovated  complex in Jos on Wednesday November 13 2025 Mutfwang titled the budget as “Budget of Consolidation and Sustainability 2.0”.

Governor Mutfwang started with a review of the 2025 budget performances which according to him was aimed to reaffirm his administration’s commitment and resilience to the peace and prosperity of the state.

The 2026 appropriation bill has a recurrent size of Three Hundred and Forty-One Billion, Four Hundred and Nine Million, Six Hundred and Eight Thousand, Nine Hundred and Twenty-Nine Naira (341,409,608,929.00), representing 37.32% of the total.

The capital component is Five Hundred and Seventy-Three Billion, Four Hundred and Fifty-Three Million, Eight Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Forty-Two Naira (573,453,813,942.00), constituting 62.68%.

The total budget shows an increase of Three Hundred and Five Billion, Six Hundred and Eighty-Six Million, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Six Thousand, Nine Hundred and Thirty-Nine Naira Seven Kobo (306,686,896,939.07) over 2025 budget.

According to the governor, the 2026 budget is expected to be generated from internally generated revenue, Government share of FAAC, AIDS, grants and capital development fund (CDF).

He said his administration has earmarked several projects to be executed in the 2026 fiscal year, with an estimated sum of Five Hundred and Seventy-Three Billion, Four Hundred and Fifty-Three Million, Eight Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Forty-Two Naira (573,453,813,942.00) allocated for effective implementation which accounts for 62.93% of the total budget.

For sectoral allocation, the Administrative sector got Two Hundred and Seven Billion, Nine Hundred and Twenty-Nine Million, Six Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty-Four Naira (207,929,685,424.00) only, representing 22.7% of the total capital estimate.

The Economic sector has Four Hundred and Sixty-Four Billion, Nine Hundred and Eighty-Five Million, Six Hundred and Twenty-Eight Thousand, Sixteen Naira (₦464,985,628,016.00) only, representing 50.8% of the total capital budget.
Law and Justice received Twenty-Three Billion, Three Hundred Ninety-One Million, Six Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand, Five Hundred Thirty-Three Naira (₦23,391,625,533.00) only, representing 2.6% of the total capital budget.

While Social services sector got Two Hundred and Eighteen Billion, Five Hundred and Fifty-Six Million, Four Hundred and Eighty-Three Thousand, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Eight Naira (218,556,483,898.00) only, representing 23.9% of the total capital estimates.

Speaker of the House of Assembly Rt Hon Naanlong Daniel promised that the assembly will expedite action on the budget proposal after careful scrutiny so as to ensure speedy passage..

About 20 Soldiers Killed In Deadly Bandit Attack On Military Camp In Niger State

In a tragic escalation of violence in Nigeria’s North-Central region, about 20 soldiers were reportedly killed in the early hours of Tuesday during a fierce attack by armed bandits on a military camp near Bangi, in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State.
