PLATEAU STATE IS THE SIXTH STATE IN NIGERIA TO LAUNCH INNOVATIVE HEALTH SUPPLY CHAIN HUB-JERRY BOT
It was a groundbreaking and epoch event at the Fox Hotels,Jos Nigeria on Friday 24 October 2025 as the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency became the only the sixth State in Nigeria to launch and an innovative hub for drug supply management and other value chains.
At the well attended event the Plateau State Commissioner of Health Dr Nicholas Bamlong representing the State government noted that the governor Barrister Caleb Mannaseh Muttwang had invested a lot in the health sector and enjoined all stakeholders to join hands in collaboration to ensure that all gains trickle down so that the citizens can access quality and affordable healthcare through quality and verifiable medical commodities.
With the theme "To strengthen public State health and drug management agency" Plateau joins 5 other states which includes Lagos,Enugu,Ogun, Nassarawa,Yobe and Ogun to launch the scheme.
In his keynote address the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency Pharmacist Kim Jerry Bot said.
"Before I came here this agency was comatose but thanks to our amiable and hardworking governor Barrister Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang we have hit the ground running as presently we have the highest value of capitalisation in Nigeria through the selfless efforts of our able government"
"Presently we are the among the three states in Nigeria and the only state in Northern Nigeria to soon benefit from the global innovative chain hub at no cost through the the efforts of our partners particularly the ARC -ESM (Africa Centre for Excellence Supply Chain Management) headed by it's Chief Executive Ms Azuka Okeke who through her tireless efforts has in no small measure brought us to where we are presently and we truly appreciate her"
He further thanked Governor Mutfwang for repositioning the agency to attain new heights and promised to reciprocate the gesture alongside his management team to make ensure Plateau citizens get qualitative and certified medical drugs and Commodities at affordable and subsidized rates in tune with the "The time is now Mantra" of the Mutfwang administration.
In a good will message the Director General of the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service Dr Jim Pam Wayas commended the Executive Secretary and his team for their synergy and sacrifices and urged all health care agencies in the state to tune in to the great vision of delivering top notch health services to all in article 5 subsection 1 of the Green Cap agenda of the Mutfwang administration.
