Premier League 2025-2026: 10 Summer Signings To Watch This Season
The 2025-26 Premier League season kicks off this Friday, with reigning champions Liverpool hosting Bournemouth at 8pm. Ahead of the new campaign, SportsMole has compiled its top 10 summer signings to keep an eye on this season in England’s top flight.
• Lucas Perri
After a full season at Lyon, featuring 45 appearances across all competitions, Lucas Perri has moved to newly promoted Leeds this summer in a deal reported at €16m (£14m). The Brazilian goalkeeper will be expected to help the Peacocks fight for Premier League survival.
• Hugo Ekitike
Liverpool's Jeremie Frimpong and Hugo Ekitike celebrate on August 10, 2025
Liverpool have splashed close to €300m (£265m) in the transfer market to strengthen their squad. While the possibility of signing Alexander Isak remains, they have already secured a striker in Hugo Ekitike. The Frenchman, who joined from Eintracht Frankfurt for €80m (£70.5m), has a fresh chance to shine at a major European club after a disappointing spell at PSG. He missed his first opportunity in the Community Shield but has already shown glimpses of quality.
• Mohammed Kudus
This summer, Mohammed Kudus moved from West Ham to Tottenham for a reported fee of €63.8m (£56.2m). The Ghanaian is a major investment for Spurs, who are looking to revitalise their attacking options. Kudus, impressive for the Hammers last season, will have significant responsibilities under Thomas Frank.
• Rayan Cherki
French football prospect Rayan Cherki completed his first full season with Lyon last year. The attacking midfielder or winger joined Manchester City this summer for €36.5m (£32m). Fast, technical and unselfish, he has all the attributes to thrive in Pep Guardiola’s system, especially with a role to fill following Kevin De Bruyne’s departure.
• Thierno Barry
French under-21 international Thierno Barry is Everton’s most expensive signing of the summer. The 22-year-old forward, coming off a strong season at Villarreal with 11 goals and 4 assists in 35 La Liga appearances, joined for €30m (£26.5m). Standing 1.95m tall, he has the ideal profile to trouble English defences with his heading ability and hold-up play.
• Viktor Gyokeres
Viktor Gyokeres has been one of the stars of the summer market. The Swedish striker, who scored 45 goals for Sporting Portugal in 2024-25 across all competitions, joined Arsenal for €65.8m (£58m). The move is highly anticipated, as Gyokeres is considered one of the world’s best number 9s, and the Gunners have lacked a prolific striker in recent seasons.
• Estevao
Estevao is Chelsea’s latest young talent. The 18-year-old winger joined from Palmeiras for €34m (£30m) but is already valued at €60m (£53m) by Transfermarkt. A promising Brazilian prospect, it remains to be seen if the right-footed winger, renowned for his technique, will get game time given competition from Pedro Neto and Raheem Sterling, who may leave.
• Benjamin Sesko
Benjamin Sesko was the long-awaited number 9 for Manchester United, who were disappointed by the performances of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee last season. The 22-year-old Slovene carries high expectations and the pressure of a €76.5m (£67.2m) transfer from RB Leipzig.
• Florian Wirtz
Florian Wirtz is the most expensive signing of the summer in the Premier League. The German attacking midfielder joined from Bayer Leverkusen for €125m (£110m), becoming Liverpool’s record signing. Wirtz will face intense expectations as he adapts to a new league and manager, following in the footsteps of his former mentor Xabi Alonso.
• Jack Grealish
Alongside Thierno Barry, Everton have completed the signing of Jack Grealish to bolster their attacking options. The English winger is seeking a fresh start at Goodison Park after an inconsistent season at Manchester City. No longer in Pep Guardiola’s plans, Grealish joined on a loan with an option to buy for €58m (£50.8m), confirmed this Tuesday.
