The president missed a golden opportunity to raise and deepen democracy in Nigeria by restoring on today's democracy day, democratic, normal and civil rule in Rivers State!
You can not be celebrating democracy and be flaunting yourself as a democrat on one hand and on the other hand be trampling democracy under your big presidential foot. Today is about respecting and upholding democratic rights under the Constitution and the laws. I am disappointed...".

John Onaiyekan, a cardinal and former Catholic archbishop of Abuja, says President Bola Tinubu’s re-election prospects in a free and fair election would be jeopardised if he continues with his current policies.
