PLATEAU PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION (PPA)INAUGURATE ELECTORAL COMMITTEE (ELCOM) TO CONDUCT ELECTIONS.By Onjefu Odaudu,Jos

As part of efforts to conduct a successful,free, fair and transparent elections the Plateau Publishers Association (PPA) has inaugurated a three member electoral committee.headed by Chief Hosea Nash Vongdip, Chairman,Lady Juliana Uzoka, Secretary and Deaconess Florence Emi, member to oversee it's upcoming elections.

The landmark occasion took place at the Association's temporary office at Nicon House Jos Nigeria on Wednesday 14 May 2025 and was attended by Board of Trustee Members, Executive Committee Members and the general Congress.

It would be the recalled that the Prince Daniel John Bok Executive committee came into office in January following the removal of the erstwhile Chairman Chief Amb. Nanyah Daman following allegations of misconduct, high-handedness and running the association as a one man show without regard for due process.

A mandate of 6 months was given the Prince Bok management to run the affairs of the association till elections are held to elect new officials.

Speaking at the inauguration the Acting Chairman Bok said "We are here to inaugurate a 3 man committee.saddled with the important task of organising and conducting our next elections and we are aware of the developments that led to the formation of an interim Exco and the tenure will be elapsing by June and the right thing to do is to pave the way for smooth elections to reposition the organization to build it in other to achieve the great gains that are out there within our responsibilities as the fourth estate of the realm"

Speaking on behalf of the ELCOM the Chairman Chief Hosea Nash Vongdip in his response after the inauguration by Bok said "it gives me great pleasure to be made  part of those that will bring in the authentic elected officials of this association.it is a role that I take highly and I will not rest on my oars and also coordinate my team to make sure the right things are done in this all important assignment."

"We will accomplish this in the shortest time possible I don't see us waiting till next month to accomplish this there is nothing left other than to call for elections  as every sensitization has been done in view of the emergency involved in putting a duly elected EXCO in place.Those carrying out and benefitting from their splinter actions are aware their days are numbered because from this action today there is no going back as the association has moved on and if they want to come back it's okay if they won't that is their business"

"I will like to congratulate the two other ladies who are part of this Committee as your roles are critical and I know you two very well as smart and highly resourceful and also team players"

In conclusion the PPA Acting Chairman Prince Daniel Bok urged the ELCOM members to see the task at hand as a call to service.

He said he had done everything within all reasonable means to bring everyone under one roof and that even after the elections the doors of the association would still be open for those who wished to return to the fold.

The ELCOM has a 6 week mandate to organize and conduct the elections under it's terms of reference.
