PLATEAU MDA'S PRESS BRIEFING AT A GLANCE

On day 1 of the annual Plateau State Ministry of Information and Communication Ministerial Press briefing on Tuesday 20 May 2025 the following MDA'S gave their scorecard thus far.

OFFICE OF THE HEAD OF SERVICE.

The head of service Mr Stephen Pam Godongs listed among others that his office has been able to clear the backlog of salary arrears and streamline the civil service in line with global best practices under the time is now administration of governor Caleb Mannaseh Muttwang.

He also retreriated that going forward more commitment would be made in capacity building as his office is set to fully digitize the civil service in the State.
COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY

The Commissioner Hon. Salisu Nyalum listed key achievements to include

 *training of more than 150 youths and women 
*Proposed launching of website by the ministry for ease of doing business on the Plateau .
*Workshops and seminars to sensitize SME'S on business workability and ideas
*Plans underway to develop Industrial clusters.

MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT

The Commissioner Hon. Davou Gyang Jatau gave a detailed breakdown on the activities of this ministry under his watch he listed some landmark achievements in his mid term scorecard and these are:
*The introduction of the Metro bus Scheme on the Plateau the first of it's kind since the 4th Republic in the State.
*kitting of Vehicle Inspection officers (VIO'S) to make them look smarter on the job.
*The Bukuru/Jos train services which is still being fine tuned and has attracted the attention of the Nigeria Railway Corporation which has signalled it's intention to partner with the state.
*Organising the first ever VIO/Public Stakeholder meeting on the excesses   of vehicle inspection officials in Plateau State and the need for enhanced service delivery.

MINISTRY OF LANDS, SURVEY AND TOWN PLANNING.
The Commissioner Hon. Peter Nyam Gai reeled out a long list of the activities and interventions under his watch.
These are;

*Improved staff welfare
*Staff development and capacity building
*Improved revenue base
*Renovation of ministry facilities
*4 thousand certificate of occupancy issued in two years as compared to the 3 thousand issued by the previous government in 8 years.
*Purchase of landed property by the ministry for sale to interested members of the public.
*Free forms for women wishing to register land titles to encourage gender inclusivity.

The press briefing will continue on Wednesday 21 May 2025 with several other ministries including those of health,Finance,tourism, Water Resources and Energy among others lined up to showcase their scorecards
