PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONDUCTS NORTH CENTRAL ZONAL ELECTIVE CONGRESS AS ABDULRAHMAN EMERGES NATIONAL VICE CHAIRMAN.By Onjefu Odaudu,Jos
Delegates from PDP North Central Nigeria cutting across the 6 states of the region which includes Benue,Kwara,Kogi, Nassarawa,Niger, Plateau and the FCT converged in Jos the Plateau State Capital on Saturday May 24 2024 to elect zonal leaders for the party.
Mohammed Abdulrahman was elected as the National Vice Chairman of the zone, marking a fresh start as the party positions itself for the 2027 general elections.
Most of the new officers emerged unopposed, in line with the Electoral Act, with voting and counting processes observed in all contested positions.
Other elected officials include Orogu Francis as Zonal Secretary and Ndagana Alhasan as Zonal Youth Leader, among others who will steer the party’s affairs in the zone.
The congress, held at Langfield Leisure Park in Jos, attracted key party stakeholders such as former Senate Presidents, current and former governors, legislators, and other PDP stalwarts
In his acceptance speech, Mohammed Abdulrahman thanked members for the trust placed in him and promised to reposition the PDP for electoral victories in the zone.
He described the North Central as a traditional stronghold of the PDP and urged members to support the new leadership in rebuilding the party’s winning strength.
Abdulrahman also praised Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for creating an enabling environment for a peaceful and credible congress

Committe Senator Napoleon Binkat Ball,AVM(Rtd) welcomed all delegates to Jos and advised on the need for a rancour free election so that the party could move forward in preparation for the 2027 general elections cycle.
