MORE PLATEAU MDA's PRESENT SCORECARDS AS PRESS BRIEFINGS END By Onjefu Odaudu,Jos

The Plateau State ministerial press briefing ended on Friday May 23 2025 with various MDA's presenting their scorecards.
Here are the highlights;

Ministry Of WATER RESOURCES AND ENERGY
Presenting the achievements of the ministry,Hon Lawandi Bashir Datti represented by the Permanent Secretary listed the following;
* Development of WASH operational documents.
*Rehabilitation of Yelwa treatment plant, rehabilitation of water tank and 25km.reticulation to Yelwa and environs -Targetting 11 thousand households in Jos 
South LGA.
*Purchase of assorted water treatment chemicals.

Others are the construction of 50 hand boreholes by PRUWASSA in  Bokkos,Jos South,Langtang North and Wase Local government areas.
Also the rehabilitation of 560 hand pumps and 80 motorized boreholes in 5LGA's notably (Bokkos,Jos South, Langtang North,Mangu and Wase)

At the Plateau Energy corporation the following landmark projects were recorded;

Rehabilitation and reconstruction of 33kV overhead line,1 no. Substation and 0.415Kv distribution network at Maijuju Community in Jos East LGA of Plateau State.

Nigeria Solar for Health Programme.
(NISHP).
Launch of clean cooking awareness campaign.

MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE
Here the Commissioner Hon.Samson Ishaku Bugama summarized his sector thus;

*Cultivation of 15 thousand hectares for. farmers in Mangu, Bokkos, Riyom and Barkin Ladi as part of post crisis livelihood restoration.
*Distribution of 7,500 MT tons of fertilizer and 50 tons of seeds across the State for 2024
*For 2025 14 thousand tons of fertilizer,203 MT of seeds and 63 thousand litres of various herbicides.

As part of efforts to conduct a successful,free, fair and transparent elections the Plateau Publishers Association (PPA) has inaugurated a three member electoral committee.headed by Chief Hosea Nash Vongdip, Chairman,Lady Juliana Uzoka, Secretary and Deaconess Florence Emi, member to oversee it's upcoming elections. The landmark occasion took place at the Association's temporary office at Nicon House Jos Nigeria on Wednesday 14 May 2025 and was attended by Board of Trustee Members, Executive Committee Members and the general Congress. It would be the recalled that the Prince Daniel John Bok Executive committee came into office in January following the removal of the erstwhile Chairman Chief Amb. Nanyah Daman following allegations of misconduct, high-handedness and running the association as a one man show without regard for due process. Tinubu Must Change His Policies He Won’t Win Next Election In 2027 - Onaiyekan

John Onaiyekan, a cardinal and former Catholic archbishop of Abuja, says President Bola Tinubu’s re-election prospects in a free and fair election would be jeopardised if he continues with his current policies. Onaiyekan spoke in Abuja on Wednesday during an interview with journalists after participating in the communication week public lecture organised by the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN).
